Darrell Lundberg, aka "Fisherman Extraordinaire" retired to Branson in 1999. He and his wife, Diane, moved here from Minnesota (they were tired of shoveling snow). Darrell started fly fishing in 2000. Within a year or so, he was so taken with fly fishing he would spend 10-12 hours a day on the water almost every day. He also attended every fly tying class he heard of. At the end of 2004, Darrell joined River Run Outfitters as a part-time associate working in the shop and as a guide. He enjoyed guiding so much that in 2006, he purchased his own drift boat.

Watch out as he always has a joke and he does not know a stranger. His favorite saying is "come in to our shop a customer, leave a friend". This is usually the case after you have met Darrell.

Our question to each of our guides: what do you enjoy the most about guiding?

Darrell: "Meeting different people from all walks of life and helping and teaching them to catch fish. I have just as much fun watching people catch fish as I do if I were catching them".
